Autumn Equinox Harvest

The Autumn Equinox is the first day of the fall season. Day and night are equal before the sun’s light weakens and the darkness of the night becomes longer. Our growth for this annual cycle is in the process of completion. Now is the time to reap what we have sown – to harvest all those thought seeds planted in the spring that took root and grew during the summer months.

Shorter days and cooler weather signify Mother Earth’s retreat and the beginning of our journey inward to take another inventory of the darkness within our minds-thoughts so that we may emerge with even greater understanding and wisdom to begin a more conscious cycle of growth in the light of the spring.

Therefore, you might want to take a moment on September 23rd to give thanks to the Creator (God), Mother Earth, and your ancestors for all that you harvested. Think about the balance of give and take – what you have received versus what you have given – what you will carry forward versus what you are leaving behind to help make our world a better place. Aho! May this be so!
